During the last years, “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy has strengthened and expanded its presence in international academic rankings. The research activity and the increased number of publications led to the increase of the overall performance of our university in these rankings, which resulted in the university being ranked 4th in the national metaranking classifying the best performing universities in Romania.
For 2022, the university has retained its position in the 801-1000 range of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, out of a list of 2112 universities. UMFIH has registered the first position among the Romanian universities considered in the ScImago Institutions Rankings and MOSIUR (Three Missions University Rankings).
The University also achieved notable results in the rankings by field:
- 601+ out of 925 institutions ranked in Times Higher Education – Clinical, Preclinical and Health
- Range 351-400 of 649 ranked in QS by Subject – Medicine
- Range 401-500 in Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai) – Clinical Medicine
- Position #608 out of 1000 universities ranked in the US News and World Report University Rankings – Clinical Medicine
- Position #581 out of 1000 universities in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) – Medicine and Health
At the same time, UMFIH is the only medical and pharmaceutical higher education institution in Romania included in:
- ARWU – Medical Technology
in the range 301-40 - ARWU – Pharmacy and pharmaceutical science
in the range 201-300
All rankings in which UMFIH has achieved significant results are accredited by IREG (Inventory of International Rankings).
