The study programs of the three faculties within the “Iuliu Haţieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy include eight well-defined specializations, with a complex structure, differentiated from each other throughout teaching-learning means and methods, depending on the preclinical (fundamental) specifics or clinical (specialist in the field) of the disciplines.

MEDICINE

The Faculty of Medicine offers study programs at the undergraduate, master, doctoral, residency and continuing medical education levels.

Undergraduate –  4 study programs:

• Medicine – 360 ECTS – university studies lasting 6 years (Cycle I and Cycle II of university studies are offered together and bachelor and master degrees are awarded)
• General Nursing – 240 ECTS – university studies lasting 4 years
• General Nursing (Baia Mare) – 240 ECTS – university studies lasting 4 years
• Radiology and Imaging – 180 ECTS – university studies lasting 3 years
• Balneo-physio kinetic therapy and Recovery – 180 ECTS – university studies lasting 3 years.

Master

Within the Faculty of Medicine there are a number of 13 master’s degrees, with the duration of studies of 1 or 2 years.

Doctoral studies

Graduates of our faculty, specialized in Medicine, can enroll directly in doctoral studies. To enroll in the doctorate, graduates of the other specializations must first follow a master’s program.

Residency

An important component of the mission of the Faculty of Medicine is the training of specialists in the medical field through residency, with the duration of studies between 4 and 7 years. 

Continuing Medical Education

For the training of medical specialists through continuing medical education, there are numerous postgraduate courses, covering all medical specialties.

All diplomas issued to our graduates are recognized at European level.

DENTAL MEDICINE

The Faculty of Dental Medicine offers 2 undergraduate study programs:

• Dental Medicine – 360 ECTS – 6-year university studies (Cycle I and Cycle II of university studies are offered together and bachelor and master degrees are awarded)
• Dental Technology – 180 ECTS – 3-year university studies

Graduates of the specializations offered by the Faculty of Dental Medicine can continue their university studies at the level of: 

• master studies
• doctoral studies (graduates of the Dental medicine specialization of the Faculty of Dental Medicine can enroll in doctoral studies immediately after graduating from the faculty. Graduates of the dental Technology specialization must first follow a master’s program to enroll in the doctorate.
• specialty training through residency programs
• postgraduate improvement courses (Continuing Medical Education)

PHARMACY

The Faculty of Pharmacy offers study programs at the undergraduate, master, doctoral, residency and continuing medical education levels.

Two specializations are offered within the study programs at undergraduate level:

• Pharmacy – 300 ECTS – 5-year university studies (Cycle I and Cycle II of university studies are offered together and bachelor and master degrees are awarded)
• Nutrition and Dietetics – 180 ECTS – 3-year university studies

Master

Within the Faculty of Pharmacy, 5 master’s degrees are organized, with the duration of studies of 1 or 2 years.

Residency

The Faculty of Pharmacy offers the possibility of specialization through residency, a specific form of postgraduate education, which provides the necessary training to obtain the title of specialist pharmacist in two specializations: Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Laboratory. Graduates of the Pharmacy specialization can enroll in residency study programs.

Continuing Medical Education

The offer of postgraduate courses is adapted to the demands of practicing pharmacists, being updated annually.
