Master’s and PhD students from UMF “Iuliu Hațieganu” are invited to apply for the NeurotechEU Hackathon “Wearable Neurotechnology: fNIRS and EEG”, organised by Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
The hackathon will combine online preparation on 29–30 October 2026 with an in-person programme from 6 to 11 November 2026 at Radboud University.
The programme offers participants the opportunity to explore how wearable neurotechnology is transforming neuroscience, healthcare and human-computer interaction. Working in interdisciplinary teams, students will develop innovative applications using electroencephalography (EEG) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to address real-world challenges.
During the programme, participants will explore topics such as:
- the physiological principles of EEG and fNIRS;
- designing experiments based on real-world challenges;
- acquiring wearable neuroimaging data;
- processing and analysing EEG and fNIRS data;
- evaluating multimodal approaches;
- developing evidence-based neurotechnology concepts;
- presenting scientific and technological solutions.
The Hackathon is organised as an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme and awards 3 ECTS credits.
