UMF “Iuliu Hațieganu” Cluj-Napoca, as a partner in the NeurotechEU European University Alliance, invites its community to apply for a new learning opportunity for Master’s and doctoral students: the Summer School of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback: Translating Evidence into Practice, organised by Reykjavik University, co-organised with Karolinska Institutet and Radboud University.
The programme is delivered as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), combining online learning with an on-site component in Iceland, and focuses on translating scientific evidence into practical skills in applied psychophysiology.
Dates and format
The Summer School runs from 21 May to 17 June 2026, in a blended structure:
- Online: 21–31 May and 6–17 June 2026
- On-site (Reykjavik University): 1–5 June 2026
Who can apply
This intensive course is designed for Master’s and PhD students in:
- Psychology
- Neuroscience
- Health Technology
- Biomedical Engineering
Participants will work in teams and engage with both foundational concepts and hands-on practical training.
What you will learn
The Summer School introduces applied psychophysiology with a strong emphasis on:
- Heart rate variability (HRV) self-regulation
- Biofeedback methods and practical applications
The programme follows a progressive structure:
- Online phase 1: orientation, key concepts, team formation, interactive group teaching
- On-site week in Reykjavik: HRV laboratory work, collaborative team experiment, and expert guest sessions (including neurofeedback and real-world applications)
- Online phase 2: data analysis, report writing, presentations, and a final integration session to consolidate learning outcomes
Selection and nomination deadline
Participants are selected by each partner university. Interested UMF students should contact our local NeurotechEU representative for guidance on the application and internal selection process at neurotecheu.mobility@brainscience.ro
Application deadline: 15 March 2026
