Educational offer

The Faculty of Medicine offers degree programmes at bachelor, master, doctoral, residency and continuing medical education levels.

 

The program of study at bachelor’s and master’s level is:

  • Medicine – 360 ECTS – 6-year undergraduate studies

 

Masters

The Faculty of Medicine offers 14 Master’s degrees, with a duration of 1 or 2 years. Click here for details

 

Doctorate

Graduates of our Faculty of Medicine can apply directly for doctoral studies. Graduates of other specialisations must first follow a Master’s programme in order to apply for a PhD. Click here for details

 

Residency

An important component of the mission of the Faculty of Medicine is the training of specialists in the medical field through residency, with a duration of studies between 4 and 7 years. Visit this link for details

 

Continuing medical education

For the training of medical specialists through continuing medical education, there are numerous postgraduate courses, covering all medical specialties (Details here)

Diplomas obtained at the Faculty of Medicine are recognised:

  • within the EU according to the E.E.C. Directive 36 /2005 – graduates may practise within the European Union without the need for any diploma equivalence examination
  • in non-EU countries, equivalence exams are held according to the specific legislation of each country
  • the medical school diploma is recognised by the Israeli Ministry of Health

 

To certify the quality of education offered by the Faculty of Medicine, it has been evaluated by:

  • ARACIS
  • Medical University of Vienna and Szeged in 2012
  • EUA – European University Association in 2012 and 2014
  • CIDMEF Evaluation Board 2013, following which the General Assembly of CIDMEF awarded the Faculty of Medicine of Cluj, the quality diploma – “Label CIDMEF”, the only one of its kind in South-East Europe (Conférence Internationale des Doyens et des Facultés de Médecine d’Expression Française).
  • In 2024, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Recognition accredited the Medicine programs (Romanian, English, and French) according to the standards of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) for a period of 5 years. The programs meet all the criteria included in the accreditation ( there is no incomplete criteria), and 2% of the criteria are completed at a high level of performance (allocation of resources for student needs and services, respectively promoting research activity in educational programs, during student training). – Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy PA
