In accordance with the Law no. 78/2014 regarding the regulation of volunteer activity in Romania, and with the existing volunteering procedure at the Research Center for Functional Genomics, Biomedicine and Translational Medicine, within UMF Cluj-Napoca, a selection of volunteers is organized according to the announcement below.
- Volunteer research assistant – 1 position
Job description:
The nominated volunteer will participate in conducting experiments within the centre’s ongoing projects, particularly focused on the design and construction of tumor-targeted vectors and genome editing technologies. The planned activities consist of molecular biology techniques and cell culture experiments. The time allocated to these activities is a minimum of 20 hours per week, 80 hours per month, the work schedule being established by mutual agreement with the person in charge supervising the projects.
The period of the volunteer contract is 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Minimum conditions for participation:
- Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine/Biology/Biochemistry/Chemistry
- Bachelor’s thesis obtained in the field of molecular and/or cellular biology, or related fields
- At least intermediate level of knowledge of the English language
It constitutes an advantage:
- Internship/volunteering in a research department
- Knowledge of operating nucleic acid and protein sequence data analysis software
- Participation in national/international competitions in fields such as biology, chemistry or related fields
Abilities:
- Responsible person
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to details, initiative
