Through lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and direct interaction with real users, participants explore the <strong>technical, clinical, and ethical<\/strong> dimensions of neurotechnology, supported by expertise from Radboud University and NeurotechEU partner institutions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key dates and format<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Course dates:<\/strong> Monday, <strong>29 June<\/strong> \u2013 Friday, <strong>3 July 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> On-site, Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands<\/li>\n<li><strong>Registration deadline:<\/strong> <strong>15 May 2026, 23:59<\/strong> (local time)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Study load:<\/strong> <strong>2 ECTS<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong> <strong>Edubadge with micro-credentials<\/strong> and <strong>proof of participation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who can apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course is open to participants at the following levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced Bachelor<\/li>\n<li>Master<\/li>\n<li>PhD<\/li>\n<li>Postdoc<\/li>\n<li>Professionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants should have a background (supported by transcript and CV) in <strong>neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, computer science, medicine, audiology, rehabilitation<\/strong>, or related fields.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What the course covers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Summer School examines how neurotechnology impacts patients and users through major real-world clinical use cases. Each day focuses on one application area:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cochlear Implants<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Peripheral Nerve Stimulation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Epilepsy Neuromodulation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Brain\u2013Computer Interfaces (BCIs)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Participants will engage in foundational lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and daily sessions with a real user, facilitated by an experienced science communicator to support empathetic, evidence-based dialogue and reflective practice.<\/p>\n<p>The programme brings together <strong>clinicians, neuroscientists, engineers, ethicists, and industry partners<\/strong>, addressing topics such as clinical indications, device architectures, signal processing, evaluation methods, ethics and regulation, accessibility, risk\u2013benefit trade-offs, and long-term follow-up. The course provides a multi-perspective view aligned with NeurotechEU\u2019s approach to <strong>responsible innovation<\/strong> and translational competence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application and selection process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants are <strong>pre-selected by their home institution<\/strong>. Each partner institution may grant <strong>up to two fee waivers<\/strong>. If more than two applicants are nominated, the additional course fee is <strong>\u20ac787 per applicant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After pre-selection, applicants submit their course application through the online portal by choosing the <strong>\u201cscholarship\u201d<\/strong> option.
