The Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy invites students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, and faculty members interested in neuroscience to apply for participation in BonnBrain3, the 2026 edition. The event will take place between 23 and 25 March 2026 at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), in collaboration with the University of Bonn and the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology of Behavior – caesar.
The conference brings together leading experts, young investigators, and industry representatives, offering an interdisciplinary platform to explore how neural circuits control behaviour. The programme includes plenary lectures, thematic symposia, poster sessions, short scientific talks, and numerous opportunities for professional networking and development.
An international opportunity for the UMFIH community
Participation in BonnBrain3 is a valuable opportunity for anyone interested in modern neuroscience research and international collaboration. The event encourages the exchange of ideas across disciplines and supports the strengthening of both local and global scientific communities.
The programme includes:
- Symposia and lectures delivered by international experts
- Poster sessions and short talks selected from the submitted abstracts
- A dedicated Student and Young Investigator Symposium
- Career development sessions
- Networking events connecting participants from academia and industry
How to participate
The selection process includes two steps:
- Selection by the organizers in Bonn
- Applicants submit their abstract and application form via the official conference website.
- Selected participants receive an acceptance letter.
- NeurotechEU mobility procedure at UMF “Iuliu Hațieganu”
- After receiving the acceptance letter, participants follow the required steps for NeurotechEU mobility.
For more information about the application process, please contact our university’s NeurotechEU team at neurotecheu.mobility@brainscience.ro.
Key deadlines
- Abstract submission deadline: 15 December 2025
- General application and registration deadline: 28 February 2026
- Notification of presentation selection: by 15 January 2026
All submitted abstracts will automatically be considered for poster presentation. Selected abstracts may also be invited as short talks or for a Posterblitz session after the Opening Keynote.
Abstract submission topics
- Cellular and molecular neuroscience
- Circuits and systems neuroscience
- Cognition and behaviour
- Computational and theoretical neuroscience
